David Mullins

Biography

"There is a God in Heaven who loves you..."

This basic, yet profound truth is the heart of David Mullins' life and message. A speaker, teacher, writer and musician, David seeks to use these giftings to take the simple, life-changing word of God's love to both the lost and to those in the Church who still believe they are unlovable, unaccepted and unworthy of His love.

David grew up in rural Indiana, the youngest of five children in a strong Christian home. Later at Johnson Bible College, David found both a Bachelor of Arts degree in Bible and Preaching and his best friend for life, his wife Robin. They have two children, Jonathan and Kacie.

In September of 1997, while completing his ninth year on the ministerial staff at Oak Grove Christian Church in Beckley, West Virginia, a defining moment happened in David's life; the death of his older brother and dear friend Rich. Rich, a popular Christian musician, was best known for his song "Awesome God" and for his intense desire to bring the Good News of God's love to Native Americans. Rich's sudden death in a car accident saddened thousands throughout the world and brought enormous changes in the lives of David and Robin Mullins.

In 1998, David and his family relocated to Wichita, Kansas to accept a wonderful challenge; the directing of a new ministry, The Legacy of A Kid Brother of St. Frank. The Legacy was formed by Rich's friends and family to continue his vision to take the love of Christ to the reservations through the medium of music and the arts. From 1998-2002 as Director of the Legacy, David was involved in speaking and teaching in churches, camps and retreats across America, Canada, Ireland and Guatemala. He and the Legacy ministry team developed art, drama and music camps for Native American youth that are among the most successful and well received in the Native American Christian community. A separate church retreat program grew from David's love of writing and teaching for adults on such subjects as learning to abandon ourselves fully to God, coming to terms with our own brokenness and of course, the love of God.

It was in the midst of wearing the many hats of administrator, speaker, retreat writer, camp director, fundraiser and music leader that David saw clearly his primary gift; his love for speaking and teaching. Having recently resigned from the Legacy, David is now booking speaking/teaching engagements for retreats, seminars and worship services. David's many cross-cultural experiences working alongside many denominations have equipped him to speak to the varied parts of the Body of Christ.
